Core system evaluation/migration vendors - Next Step references

  • 1.  Core system evaluation/migration vendors - Next Step references

We are getting ready to start a core system evaluation. We would like to know if anyone has previously engaged Next Step to assist the core evaluation/contract/conversion phases.

If you have, would you mind sharing your experience? If you could mention what core you migrated from/to, it would also be helpful.

    Thank you,

    Hi Roberto

We used NextStep for a core migration as well as for a Cards Processing RFP.  They are excellent and worth their weight in gold, in my opinion.    They have a very rigid process that some stakeholders may feel is overkill and too onerous, but from a governance standpoint the process is excellent and 100% necessary.  There is a lot of documentation but in my opinion , it all adds value and definitely helps keep track of the decision making.    Additionally, from a contract negotiation standpoint, we were able to negotiate the final contract in three weeks.   In the past, that would have taken us much longer, but they shortcut a lot of the back and forth because they know what the vendors will move on and just put that in from the start.     We migrated from Temenos T24 (don't worry if you don't know what that is) to Fiserv DNA.   We had it down to them and the D&H Phoenix system (this was back in 2015-2106).    For the Cards Processing RFP, we recouped our expense in the first three months of our new contract (we renewed with our provider) which had much better pricing.   I unreservedly recommend them.

The Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union recently underwent a Core conversation over an 18 month period.  We used Next Steps and they were fantastic. We couldn't have completed the conversion without their assistance. We converted to Fiserv DNA and a new digital platform Q2.

I was the internal coordinator for the project and worked closely with our on-site Next Step representative Wendy Dowling. If you have a moment and wish to discuss, please feel free to reach out to me.

     Thank you.
